Life is full of challenges that can hinder our progress. But as children of God, we have the assurance that He is always with us, guiding and directing our steps. Today, we’ll explore strategies to help us move forward in life, overcoming obstacles and achieving our goals.

I. Be Born Again

To move forward, we must start with a new beginning. Being born again is the first step towards a life of purpose and direction. In John 3:3, Jesus says, “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” When we’re born again, we receive a new nature, and our lives are transformed. Let’s make sure we’re walking in the Spirit, not the flesh.

II. Be Fervent in Prayer

Prayer is the key to unlocking God’s power in our lives. In Luke 18:1, Jesus teaches us to pray always, “And He told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to lose heart.” Fervent prayer helps us stay focused, builds our faith, and gives us the strength to overcome challenges.

III. Be Determined to Move Forward

Determination is crucial to achieving our goals. In Exodus 14:14-15, Moses tells the Israelites, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” But in verse 15, God tells Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.” Sometimes, we need to take bold steps, trusting God to guide us.

IV. Possibility Faith

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). When we have the possibility of faith, we believe that God can do the impossible. In Romans 8:28, we’re told that “all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” Let’s trust God’s plan and believe in His goodness.

V. Study the Word of God

The Bible is our guidebook for life. In Psalm 119:105, we’re told that “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” When we study the Word, we gain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Let’s meditate on Scripture, and let it transform our lives.

VI. Change Your Attitude

Our attitude determines our altitude. In Psalm 24:19, we’re told that “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” Let’s cultivate a positive attitude, focusing on God’s goodness and faithfulness.

VII. Change Your Words (Speak Life)

The words we speak have power. In Proverbs 18:21, we’re told that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Let’s speak life, encouraging ourselves and others. Our words can build up or tear down – let’s choose to speak life.

VIII. Don’t Dwell on the Past

The past is just that – past. In Isaiah 43:18, God says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Let’s learn from our mistakes, but not dwell on them. Instead, let’s focus on the present and future, trusting God to guide us.

IX. Stop Self-Pity

Self-pity can hold us back from moving forward. In Psalm 44:26, we’re told that “we sink down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.” Let’s rise above self-pity, trusting God’s goodness and sovereignty.

X. Work on Your Ideas

God gives us ideas and vision. In Genesis 26:18, Isaac digs again the wells that his father Abraham had dug. Let’s work on our ideas, trusting God to guide and bless us.

XI. Be Kingdom-Minded

Our focus should be on God’s kingdom, not our own. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Let’s prioritize God’s kingdom, trusting Him to provide for our needs.

Conclusion

Moving forward requires faith, determination, and obedience. Let’s apply these strategies to our lives, trusting God to guide and direct us. As we move forward, we’ll experience God’s goodness, faithfulness, and blessings. Let’s rise up and move forward, trusting God to work all things together for our good!
