‎Introduction:

Holiness is not a performance for others, but a profound, internal transformation that begins when we drop our pretenses, rely on God’s power, and actively separate ourselves from the sin—like strife—that entangles us.

‎1. The Problem:

Our Pretense of Holiness: We often treat holiness as an unattainable ideal or a Sunday-only performance. We point fingers at others while hiding our own strife—the arguments, disagreements, and butting heads that mark our private lives (Isaiah 64:6).

Truth: God sees past the act. Strife in our homes and hearts reveals that church attendance alone doesn’t make us holy. We must accept that this struggle is real and can subtly become a lifestyle.

‎2. The Power:

God’s Provision for Holiness: We cannot achieve holiness by our own strength. Our own righteousness is insufficient.

Hope:  God invites all who are weary and burdened to find rest in Him (Matthew 11:28). Through Christ’s sacrifice, He makes us white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). Holiness is a gift we receive, not a goal we achieve alone.

3.The Process: Pursuing a Transformed Life:

Holiness is a journey of constant spiritual check-ins. It requires a personal relationship with God, disregarding the inadequacies of others.

‎Action Plan:

Guard Your Heart: Your thoughts and meditations shape your life. Guard your heart diligently and fill it with whatever is true, noble, and right (Proverbs 4:23, Philippians 4:8).

Renew Your Mind: Let God’s Word separate you from the world’s way of thinking, leading to total conversion like the Apostle Paul (Romans 12:2).

Tame Your Tongue: Put away false, dishonest, and evil speech (Ephesians 4:29, Proverbs 4:24). Your words are a barometer of your heart.

‎Conclusion:

‎God has called us to be separate, set apart for Him. This calling demands we move beyond complacency. When we are conscious of our eternal destination, our reactions, thoughts, and way of life will change. Stop blaming others and start checking your own spirit. Embrace the new heart God wants to create in you (Psalm 51:10), and actively “put away all strife” to walk worthy of the Lord.
