Introduction:
The service began with deep thanksgiving:
- Thanking God for life, health, sound mind, protection, and preservation.
- Acknowledging that God has kept us from January to November, unchanged, unfailing, ever-watchful.
- Celebrating God for His mercy, for the blood of Jesus that speaks better things, and for the privilege to be alive and sane.
- Declaring that only God saves, redeems, delivers, lifts, restores, and keeps us from destruction.
After worship, the Word came forth powerfully:
All have sinned — but God has provided a way out through Jesus Christ.
Though sin is universal, continuing in sin is a choice.
God is calling His children to holiness, purity, and repentance.
1. All Humans Are Born in Sin, But No One Should Remain There
- We inherited sin through Adam (Romans 5).
- Even babies display sinful nature — no one teaches a child to lie or disobey.
- But when Jesus came, He became the Second Adam, giving us power to live above sin.
2. Grace Is Not a License to Sin
Paul asks:
“Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?”*
Answer: GOD FORBID.
Grace is not permission to sin — grace is power to overcome sin.
3.Sin Has Consequences — Always
- Sin is ugly, shameful, destructive, and deceitful.
- It brings death, loss, brokenness, and God’s anger (Ps. 7:11).
- Hidden sins eventually become exposed.
- What you enjoy today in sin becomes bitter tomorrow.
Examples from the sermon:
- Immorality
- Stealing or embezzlement
- Lies upon lies
- Gossip, slander & backbiting
- Lustful habits
- Unforgiveness
- Secret sinful lifestyles
- Ignoring God’s instructions
Sin always takes more from you than it gives.
4.Secret Sin Is Still Sin — And God Sees It
Psalm 19:12 calls them “secret faults.”*
- You can hide sin from people, but never from God.
Secret sin produces: - Spiritual dryness
- Condemnation
- Loss of joy
- Weakness against temptation
- Delay in destiny
- Shame in due time
5.God’s Mercy Is Available — But Not Forever Ignored
Acts 17:30 says God once overlooked ignorance but now commands repentance.
Grace is an open door — but not a permanent one.
6.Real Repentance Brings Transformation
- David repented when Nathan confronted him (2 Sam. 12).
- Zacchaeus repented and restored all he had stolen.
- The thief on the cross received mercy when he repented.
Repentance restores destiny.
Repentance attracts mercy.
Repentance breaks curses.
Repentance opens the door for God’s blessing
7.You Cannot Serve Sin and Serve God at the Same Time
Romans 6:16 — You become servant to whom you obey.*
- You must choose:
- Sin → Death
- Righteousness → Eternal Life
8.Sin Weakens the Anointing and Blocks Breakthroughs
- Sin drains spiritual authority.
- Sin closes divine doors.
- Sin invites guilt, fear, sickness, and oppression.
- Sin makes prayer powerless.
Holiness restores:
- Clarity
- Peace
- Power
- Open heavens
- Destiny alignment
- Spiritual authority
9. There Is Only One Way of Escape — JESUS
Matthew 11:28 —“Come unto Me… and I will give you rest.”
He alone:
- Breaks chains
- Wipes sins
- Delivers from addictions
- Restores identity
- Breaks generational patterns
- Makes all things new
CONCLUSION.
Yes, all have sinned, but no child of God must continue in sin.
God is calling the church to:
- Holiness
- Purity
- Repentance
- Restoration
- Surrender
- Commitment
- Obedience
- Genuine transformation
We must judge ourselves, cleanse ourselves, and allow God to renew us.
As the year ends, we must not carry sin into a new season.
God wants to restore us, revive us, anoint us, and establish us — but we must come clean.
Sin shall not have dominion over you.
Jesus is ready to save, cleanse, and restore you.
