Introduction:
The service opened with intense praise and worship:
- Thanking God for who He is – Yahweh, Lord of heaven and earth, miracle-working God.
- Gratitude for His faithfulness from January to November:
- For life, health, sound mind, and protection.
- For watching over our families and the church.
- Acknowledging that without Him we can do nothing, and that every good thing we see is His hand at work.
From this atmosphere of praise, the Word reminded us that:
The life we now live as believers is the life of Christ in us.
We are called to walk worthy of the Lord, to live lives that please Him, and to be fruitful in every good work.
1.Great Is God’s Faithfulness
- God does not change: “Thou changest not…”
- Morning by morning, we see new mercies.
- Our worship and thanksgiving must flow from understanding that:
- We are alive by mercy, not by merit.
- Every protection, every healing, every provision is a sign of His faithfulness.
2.The Life We Live Now Belongs to Christ
- Salvation is not just a prayer; it is a life to be lived.
- When we read the Word, we are called to practice it in every area of life.
God declares us righteous in Christ, and calls us to walk in that righteousness daily.
3.Walking Worthy of the Lord
From Colossians 1:10, we see four core calls:
- Walk worthy of the Lord – Live in a way that reflects who He is.
- Unto all pleasing – Desire to please God in all areas, not just in church.
- Being fruitful in every good work – Our faith must produce visible fruit:
- Love, service, obedience, generosity, holiness.
- Increasing in the knowledge of God – Keep growing.
- More prayer.
- More understanding of His Word.
- More surrender.
We prayed: “Whatever does not bring glory to God, may He take it away from us.”
4.Let Your Life Shine in Christ
- We asked God:
- “Let my life forever shine in You, Lord.”
- “Confusion will not put my light out.”
- “Unrighteousness will not put my light out.”
- Just like the little maid in Naaman’s story, whose simple knowledge of God brought healing and glory to God (2 Kings 5):
- Her name was not recorded, but her impact still speaks.
- Your quiet obedience can change destinies.
5.Increasing and Abounding More and More
- The desire of the believer should not be to “just manage,” but to increase and abound in:
- Love for God
- Love for people
- Holiness
- Service
- Knowledge of God
We prayed:
“Lord, help me to increase and abound more and more in You.”
6.Testimony of God’s Goodness
- A testimony was shared of God’s sustaining power through sickness and hospitalization, and the ability to still stand, walk, dance, and rejoice in church.
- This became a point of contact:
- For long life.
- For strength in old age.
- For our children to be greater than us.
- It reminded us that:
- Serving God is not in vain.
- God keeps His own and gives reason to praise Him at every age.
CONCLUSION.
We are not just saved to “make heaven”;
we are saved to walk worthy of the Lord here and now:
- To live lives that please God.
- To be fruitful in every good work.
- To shine as lights in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
- To grow continually in the knowledge of God.
Our worship must move from singing with our lips to living with our lives.
As we praise Him, may our character, choices, and daily walk also praise Him.
